Throttle cable problem

Since I had my bike I have only had the "pull" cable. It was fine but never returned fully on its own. Just bought new cables as I had the carbs off. Fitted them so they go around the headstock, in through the hole in the frame to the carbs. The new ones are exactly the same, the throttle does not snap closed it stops just before and I close it by hand. The spring on the carbs is still strong, no routing problems and the twist grip is free. I'm used to it but it's not right. What am I missing?
Cheers Mark

Are the cables too tight? That can cause the throttle to be stiff (pfft!)

Thanks for reply I think they are ok, when I only had one cable it was the same? As the carbs been taken off I got use to putting the cable back but a few times in the past when the clamp bolt on the carbs was just in the holder loosely the cable would snap back but as soon as that was nipped up it would go back slowly ! It was never dangerous cos you used your hand on the twist grip and it shuts it back. In fact you could hear it clicking when you shut the throttle. Even though MOT is some way off I am sure the throttle has to snap back on its own?

Are there adjusters up by the twist grip ??? slacken them off if there are and then try.

There is an adjuster on the pull cable but have not yet managed to move it, can't get to the bike until tomorrow so will give it another go.
