Coolant hoses

Post by Marsbar »

Firstly I apologise for my crap description, im not very good at details.

Ive recently bought a new barrel for my bike but it has a different water inlet then the old. there are two different sizes into the old head, hers some pics to try and understand it.

the top hose that comes from the oil filter should go into the same place as the top right side inlet. Some pics of the old set-up

Is there a type of different sized T-junction I can get? ive been searching the net for past hour but my Google skills are sh*te i admit

The new barrel is from a gk73a not 76a, in fact looking at the coluor i'd say its from the Bandit4.
Might be worth talking to Mike at BMC racing as im sure he had a complete top end.

Ha, get it now. Did you get the kit offa Jay in the usa?
Check that the head gasket has been opened up to match the bore.
The big bores are rev happy so watch you dont over rev and kill it!
The way to work it is to use a 73a or bandit pipe from the pump to the barrel.
If you want to use the water cooler for the oil pump you will need a straight pipe connector that has small 'T' takeoff to allow the oil cooler to be attached, you would then cut either the main in or out pipe (depends on which way the oil cooler is flowing) and connect this in. I know for a fact that ZXR4's use one of these, NC and CBR may use them.

Yh got the kit from him, cheap price, engine compression was low at 40PSI in 1 cylinder so it needed a full top end re-build, just seemed better then just new rings :P.

Yh i am after a T-junction best as i'd like to use the oil filter cooler, i just carnt find one because of the 2 different sizes :(, im not very good at searching the net :(.
