erratic idling?

erratic idling?
hi, got a fzr 400, bought it 3 weeks ago as a "fixer upper", anyway got her running today and she idles erratically, from 4k to 2k and then back to idle, i dont have any adjustment on the idle, ive checked for air leakes and cant find any? anyone any clues?

Renew the fuel filter, clean the filter on top of the fuel tap.
Clean the carbs and squirt through some cleaner in the air jets, clean the slow running air screws in front of the floats - when you take them out screw them it first. Count the number of turnsuntil they touch home (I think it's 2.5 for a 3tj SP) maybe even mark the carb body. These affect the slow running and therefore idle speeds.
Afetr that balance the carbs.

oki doke mate, just cleaned out the carbs, ive now cleaned out the filter, guna put it all back together and see if owts changed.
