Front brake discs NC30

I have had the toughest of luck with my vfr, parked up outside work in a motorcycle parking bay and come back to find her lying on her side far from where i left her :(

turns out a van driver hit the bike and drove off...
witness left the registration of the van and the time it happened but my insurance being third party arent going to cover the damages :(

the fairings are not in a good state, front fairing brace snapped, right mirror gone screen is in pieces but the worst bit is the right handle bar bent in front brake lever in 3pieces and the front disc is bent

i have managed to get hold of a handlebar from a breaker, and i have my old brake lever back on the bike but the disc is worrying...

i dont think it wise to just replace one disc as theyre probably better to replace as a pair, but £250 for a pair is quite alot of money, there arent even many used discs floating about either on the fleabay...

does anyone know if cbr 600 discs will fit on a nc30 without modification or if i can search for any other model of bike discs which may provide better/cheaper replacement opportunities?

Discs from these models will fit:

cbr400 nc23/nc29, nc35, vfr750 (94-97), cbr600 (95-98), cbr900 fireblade (94-97), vtr1000 and probably more.

I'm sure you could get hold of a decent used pair easily in the classifieds section.

I'd be taking up the cost of repairs directly with the driver of the van.... ;)

This.... 3rd party or not, it is not your fault so it is the van driver who needs to take a hit and claim. Get in touch with the rozzers.

i have reported it to the police and they said they are looking into it
the driver didnt stop nor did i witness the incident
so i have no details of the driver :(
if i could get hold of the driver i would probably wind up in trouble

Aye..I hear you.

You have a reasonable case for contacting DVLA to get the address of the driver though - you have the reg..

Discs are easy to get and though loads fit, they all seem to have slightly different carriers and disc drilling.

You'll get it sorted on here.

I have an old worn set of discs in the shed. Not much meat on them but you are welcome to them for the cost of postage if you want them

get some Arashi's...nice discs at more than half the cost of EBC, Armstrong, Braking, etc. even RO sells them so they're pretty decent.

can find them on fleabay too --> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Front-Brak ... 3a6dd6e16c

Since you have the details and have contacted police, did you get a crime number?

Speak with your insurance and ask them to chase it up, do you have legal cover?

They should be able to get the owners details and and what not from the reg number.

I'd be wanting his insurance to repair it.
