Any thoughts about indicators on as running lights? I'm a bit sceptical as some people may misinterpret them.
Can I change the bulbs to single filament ones and hey presto?

If you were in the USA, great. In the UK I'd imagine it would confuse people.

Just turn your headlights on?

My NSR's have them as do my CRM250AR, and its actually an MOT failure.
I had to disconnect them when he looked at the front

On the UK roads you are not allowed to show any colour light other than white(with the exception of indicators), forwards facing on the front of any vehicle .
You might get away with showing an amber marker to the rear or side, but if i was you, i would check with VOSA to confirm that the later would be ok on a motorcycle.

Been riding my nc21 for the past 10 months with these on and never had a single issue with the law, the only annoying thing is they do go ocasionaly and then its a tad dangerous as it looks like you've got an indicator on, and this has led to people pulling out on me on occasions (thats what the airhorns are for LOL)!

Mind you in somerset you are not going to upset to many people, as there are never that many about:)

Also in the UK too many peopel confuse them as indicators, the amount of people I had pull out on me, espeically around dusk on the NC24 was unreal.

Just cut the orange / white and blue / white wires and they'll go away.

I bought it this way with a 12 month MOT on it so it can't be a failure. My headlights are on with them .My understanding was this was a Japanese setup.

It IS a failure - have you considered they "may" have been disconnected before going to test, or tested by someone who was willing to pass it on the understanding that they would be disconnected (my tester knows me and my bikes well enough to advise and not fail on something he knows i will sort.

I have to say...Since my lasy comment i have been reading conflicting reports about what colour lights are allowed to be forward facing on a Motor Vehicle in the U.K.
Some say only white light, but others say white, amber and blue are allowed.
Now i know some new Fords have blue running lights on the front of them, so i suggest for your own peace of mind that you contact V.O.S.A. and get an official answer.
If possible, get them to give you the answer in writting.
