Mild steel.. known to rot... if it's already gone into a hole welding it might be a pain as it tends to just make the hole bigger..

Collecterbox is the same of the part.. the NC21 collectrbox is about 130gbp + vat but you have to remove the engine to change it.

I've just fitted the motad stainless collector and rear downpipes (avaliable from David Silver) you don't have to remove the engine to fit them, BUT be aware the 'Full instructions' supplied with it are useless (I've spoken to Motad's MD about them) but in saying this the product itself is good. If you do buy a set, them I'll be happy to tell you how to remove the old and fit the new without dropping the engine (and then wait to see my notes appear as instructions from Motad!!)

its and nc24 exhaust.. it will fit the nc21 but your endcan is totally different and wont fit so youll need an nc24 link pipe and can AND nc24 rear footpegs to be able to mount the exhaust can.

best way is just to get the nc21 collectorbox

and yep.. engine out job im afraid.

the high cost of having a garage etc do it and the price of the collectorbox itself writes many of these bikes off as you can get a good running bike for around 4-500gbp which is what a collectorbox change from a garage will cost

It's not overly complicated.

Drain coolant, remove radiator, disconnect everything eletrical, remove end-can / link pipe.

soak engine mounting bolts for a few days with penetrating oil, dont want to snap them.

jack up engine with trolly jack to support weight.

remove bolts and lower engine slowly makings sure wires and pipes arn't caught up.

If you've never done it give yourself most of a day to get it stripped, refitted and running again.

If you've done a couple you can have it done in a couple of hours providing you soak all the bolts beforehand and dont' snap any when removing them
