Nicked crashed 3EN2

So I thought I'd start a new thread to ask for advice with my crashed 3EN2 as I was piggbacking on my previous one about something else, which is here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=29723

Pictures are here:

Frame I think is buggered: Image

It's only slightly wonky left-right, but I think a little shorter. The seat was all scrunched up and the mount bent. So I'm assuming it's dead. The forks are at an angle to the vertical when the bike is upright, but I think that's just because the yoke and brace have shifted. Does anyone know if the 3EN2 engine and stuff will fit in a 1WG, 3TJ or 2TK frame? There are a few on fleabay at the mo.

Engine: do I need to do anything before I turn the crank to see if it's seized like sticking some oil in the plug holes? And give it a whirl to test the compression? The oil isn't sealed, neither is the coolant. I would like to salvage it if it's still ok because the compression was good before the incident, and the valves and shims have lots of life left with shims only down to 150 min from memory. I'll need to get this hole sorted and the thread recut; I've got a mobile mechanic who will do it if I don't dare:

I also need a kidney bean cover if anyone has one:

The forks seem to be straight by looking down them, and bounce ok. How do I test this properly? They must have taken a real shock judging by the wheel and the fact that the yoke and brace have shifted. The wheel doesn't sit straight in them at the mo either, but I haven't got around to putting the yoke and brace back so it might just be that.

So yeah, the questions:

1) do I need to do anything before turning the engine and testing compression?
2) what models can I buy a frame from?
3) How to check the forks
4) Is this front tyre dead or repairable? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/585/cimg2407.jpg/

I was going to break it, but I'm not very decisive. A frame should be 100 quid with plate and V5 I reckon, and a shed bike I was watching went for 425 or eBay. I think I check the engine and forks properly then decide. If it's knackered I guess just sell off what's ok. If not... Frame and bodge to streetfighter and back to full faired bit by bit maybe. Or maybe that's still stupid.

Full list of things I'll need:

Frame!
starter motor link gear cover
front wheel - maybe from Taggy if I go for it
headlights
ignition barrel, petrol tank barrel, seat lock barrel
indicators

brake light cover
Mirrors
screen
radiator - probably http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/11/cimg2398v.jpg/
RH engine mount frame bar
Nose cone
Nose cone sub frame probably, or some serious bending if not
right hand lower faring - maybe from evilchicken if I go for it

front disks?
front callipers?
reg-rec?: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/818/cimg2416.jpg/

All backend is ok, bar a battered zorst, including both fairing sides-ish. As is lower left fairing.

So any advice or thoughts appreciated. Feel free to call me a bollock brain for any of the above by the way!

All I know is that I have a 1wg engine in a 3TJ frame! It is not supposed to be possible but there it is. Good luck with everything else, and I personally would spin it over without plugs to start with just in case the barrels are full of liquid.

3TJ engines are stamped '1WG'. They all are. An early 1WG engine shouldn't go in a 3TJ frame because they mount differently, but a 3TJ engine can be used in a 1WG frame because the later engines still have all the 'old' mounting points.

You can use any 1WG frame with your 3EN2 engine, but I don't think much else is interchangeable. I've got a 3EN1 frame, engine, carbs, tank and a couple of covers spare if you're in need.

Ah, I see. My apologies- I've edited "won't" to "shouldn't"

Yes I was amazed when Bendy and EvilC confirmed it,

So I'm ok turning the engine on the crank with a spanner without doing anything more than taking the plugs out?

Can I test the compression (HT leads off) without oil and coolant in the bike once I've done that, or would I have to seal these and refill first?

Thanks for the advice on the frames Kayla. If you have the kidney bean cover let me know with a price please. And a price on the frame? Is there a V5 and plate with it?

You can use your front and rear ends ok, it just the body work bits that aren't interchangeable (at least that's how it appears from the 3EN1 and 3EN2s I had at the same time, although not side by side!)

I'm kind of reluctant to split the engine, but if you want the whole lot for £200, including the frame (with the V5 in my name) and any spares you can use- I've got some 41mm clip-ons spare and a 1WG front wheel, that kind of thing- you're welcome to it.

I'd take Kayla's offer to be honest - The fairing lowers are the same but the rest is different. All your 3en2 bits should bolt unto the 3en1 frame. Like I said on your other thread get hold of a 600 top fairing / lights / frame and you'll be ok.

Your front tyre isn't road worthy, but a lot of secondhand wheels have a tyre on them.
You can comp test it using a spanner or rathchet to crank the engine, there should be enough oil on the surfaces of the engine to do that. Take the plugs out before you do it and it's easier to turn.

ive got discs to go with that rim aswell but not sure if they fit 3en2. got two rear rims.
got this from a 3en1 but dont know for sure if they fit!
front calipers minus the pad pins (don't ask, they got lost!) with a set of practically new pads
headilght
mirror brace i think it's a 3en2 cos it don't fit the 3en1!!
might have a rad aswell.
