I really need to find out engine no on my bike to identify what it is? Can you tell me where it is please? Thanks

It's on a flat plate about 15mm x 45mm long on the top of the crankcase,
just above the clutch cover I think.
It will probably only say 1WG though.

Yup - unhelpfully all the 400 engines are stamped 1WG and nothing else

Nope no number above clutch cover? Only number I can find is on front of engine says 1wg 998cc?

which it is but you can't see it without having the tank off as as it's inside the frame spar on top of the crankcase

998cc that's some big bore, it's not a 3tj/Ducati hybred is it have you counted the cylinders

998 - can't even read properly now! Thanks for that, really must find out what most of the engine is!
