Buying a ZXR

A friend of mine is wanting to buy a ZXR, and I have got roped into helping him look for one :geek:
I know the usual things to check when looking at a bike, but is there anything in particular I need to look at on a ZXR? Any particularly weak parts?

Thanks

Jason

head gasket's tend to go around the 20,000 mile mark, not really a sign of abuse, they just do ..

clutch is always a bit rattly, nothing to worry about but you may be able to use it to haggle the price down if the vendor is clueless,

camchain tensioner is a bit weak, again, just a minor rattle around 4,000 rpm, its an easy fix though..

some (mainly older H models) for some reason have hot starting issues ..

original exhausts rot like buggery and replacing them is expensive.

shameless plug :

Thanks for the info  I'll send a message to the owner of your old one. It'll probably be out of my mates price range, but theres no harm in asking :geek:
