the front HT leads on my NC are quite a poor loose fit, does anyone know where I can obtain either replacement HT leads or alternate HT leads that will also fit

you can make leads if you need to, or you can get some good 2nd hand ones from Geoff on here.
Rick Oliver does new ones, I do believe.

push the cap down firmly until you hear it click/pop into place...

I took it out for its for its first run the other day, it pulled nicely from low down as I expect the little V4 to do, and pulled through to the redline Ok the first time, but from thereafter, would not pull cleanly from about 9 K or full throttle.
when I got back I did notice that my front plugs dont click at all, no matter how hard I push them in, the cap just sits on top of the plug. You can hear the threads on the rear plugs push into cap though.
I've managed to pick up a complete coil pack inc lead for a £10 and a new set of plugs on the way too.
It does need new plug leads and plugs, and when I have them fitted, I'll continue my investigation.
The bike has one of these silencers on it;

and also came with 115/118 jetting combo with two of the emulsion tubes in the wrong bank.
I then changed it to a 120/122 combo, shimmed the needles and increased the slide hole from 2mm to 2.5mm.

Did you measure the resistance in your coils and leads?

Are you sure your front spark plugs have the little metal grommet (can't think of a better word!) screwed onto the spark plug? If this isn't in place the lead will just sit on top of the plug

Why dont you take the plugs out, and then try fitting the leads on... you never know, you might not to be pushing them on strong enough.
Im at the gym most days of the week, and I found mine hard as hell to push on.

I took all the plugs out, I could clearly hear the threads pushing over the plug cap for the rear, but no matter how hard I pushed, the front caps wouldn't click on (even with a nipple screwed on).
I haven't measured the resistance of the coils yet, but I'm pretty certain that the caps are foobar (new ones on the way)
