unable to start up
guys, i need help badly. read 11 pages, pm 2 guys with the same problem...
after i changed my o-rings, put the carbs back, it high rev @ 8k on idle + overflow. so took it out & checked. when put back, it was only cranking, unable to fire up till batt flat. so recharged it & did a 3rd check in the carbs before i had my final try but it still wont fire up. changed new plugs. its just cranking. pls give me some solutions before i push it to the workshop... flood the carbs then with choke, its just cranking till batt flat. where's stripes1976??

Re: unable to start up
hi ben.
sorry not been about.
as you know i got married and been on honeymoon and to my suprise i went into work first day back to be made redundant.
what have you done to the carbs since the first time when it was overflowing?
my suggestion to start would be disconnect the throttle at the bars to make sure the cable has slack.
wind out the idle speed screw so its not touching.
have you fitted the air filter back in?

Re: unable to start up
stripes,
the 1st try overflow cos the float was not connected properly. overflow solved when i took out the second time to check.
then second try, is unable to turn over, only cranking till batt flat. so i asked someone to help me recharge it & i changed new plugs, took the carbs out for the 3rd time to make sure the throttle valves are closed, pilot screws are set properly, idle screw just touching.
3rd try still the same, i flood the carb, confirm petrol going down cos i can hear it, then still just cranking till batt flat again. air filter i never touch it @ all. i just unplug the air hose @ the bottom of the box which connects to air intake & try start but still no luck.
i even search online, wide open throttle for awhile, turn to reserve then just crank also no luck... right now i'm just stuck @ this final stage...
now whenever i work, i can only stare @ it cursing!! haha cos its right in my warehouse standing... dont know what are the next step to do to turn it over. carbs are confirm ok, throttle cable ok, plugs new, petrol confirm going to carbs cos i unscrew below, petrol flow out.
air filter? how can it affect start up, stripe? i think my last try is on it? as i've fixed everthing back, ready to tow to workshop but havent make up my mind yet. cos if tow, my carbtune i ordered will be wasted as i never get to use it... i also tried both jump & bump start. its rear wheel sort of lock or drag once clutch released, unable to turn it over too.
