GK71B carb issues

Hi all,

Bit of a newbie here but had my GK71B since '94 and never had any probs till my mate cartwheeled it into a wall :-(

Got it put back together and back on the road but it won't tick over when it gets hot, and sometimes won't restart until it cools down. When trying to start it makes no attempt to fire so seems like a carb related issue. Anyone out there got any suggestions?

I do have a spare bank of carbs so was planning to clean them up and try to replace the O rings and give that a go but any other suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance
TerryD

Could also be thremo or water pump related if it is getting hot quickly.

I thought about this but convinced myself it was the carbs since it didn't even try to fire when hot. I rode 20 miles the other day and it seems to run hotter than i remember but the gauge was not in the red. In those 20 miles it stalled twice, on one occasion I had to wait 40 mins for it to cool down before it would start. Maybe I should test the thermostat and check the fan operation before starting on the carbs. As I was putting it back together I did test that the fan was working before MOT'ing it.

Cheers

Worth a look and you can always swop the carbs when you know this is good.

Seems like a plan. I'll let you know how I get on.
