Fork inter changability question

Hi all. I have a 3TJ 1990 import which is poorly with knackered front shocks. Does anyone know if the forks off a 89 3EN are the same? I'm trying to fix my bike up as cost effeciently as possible. I've been quoted £173 +vat each for new stanchions from local Yam dealer. Just bought some adjs from a RRSP and ones got a nice big seal tearing dink in it. Cant seem to find anything at breakers. So last hope is these earlier forks, or All Bike engineering for new stanchions.

Help greatly apprieciated!

Cheers,
Dave

The 3en2 is a 41mm fork and the 3TJ is 43mm.

Of course I do have a pair of RR forks if you want them ... they're a bit bouncy but have newish seals and are good to go.
I'm in London, but drop me a PM if you want them.

For big tearing dings, use some wet & dry. I put a bit of fork oil on it to make it less severe on the surrounding chrome.

If you've got pitting you can also use a bit of epoxy putty as filler and then flat down with the wet & dry. Just get some brake cleaner or meths in there first to get the oil out so it bonds.

Thanks Plodder, i've sent the adjustable forks back now - but evilchicken might come up trumps!
