First port of call to ask for some advice !!

I'm starting my conversion on my 3tj at last ! & would like some advice on starter motors.

Will the starter motor from the 3t go into the 4jh motor ?? or do i have to sauce one for the appropriate engine ?.
I've looked on BikeBandit.com & there codes mach, but i'm lead to believe they are BikeBandit codes and not the Yamaha ones so some help would be great Please.

stick it in and try it? if it doesn't work then you know you need a different one!

I reckon they'll be the same.

Pretty sure the crankcases are the same as long as the gear inside is the same diameter a 3tj one should work.

When its cooled down a bit in my shed I'll go out & have a go, its just to hot at the sec !!

I said to my better half what i was going to do with the advice from Taggy & seconded by a dude called Evilchicken and she looked Quite Shocked.

After i came back the shed & Explained again in her native tongue of Janner..."Plymouth" she understood.

So thank to all a Yamaha FZR 600r 4jh starter motor fits a Yamaha 400rr 3tj.
