Well today my 3tj started making a few noise's in the wrong direction.
My mate has a thundercat with everything but the wheels and front brakes.
My question is what are the main faults I am going to find??
I have read the 600 into a 400 thread but I think a post with a simple list of most common faults and or symptoms would be great.
Also who can I get the plate mounts from??
Anybody in or around the teesside area feels like helping by all means let me know.

Also what sprockets should I run??
I will need to convert my 3TJ to 520 chain as its running a 428 at the minute.
But what recommendations for rear and front sprocket??

I'm in Peterlee, sell the mounting plates and can help with sprockets-
I just ordered from B&C Express (for a customer 4/6 I'm building) these part numbers-
front sprocket- 289-520-
15
rear sprocket- 215-520-
47
You can go to their website and use the 'SKU search' using those numbers (replace the red numbers with the number of teeth you want- I'm using 15/47 on my bike and it works well) and it'll show you the right sprockets. I'm using a dirt bike 520 chain (non o-ring) but you just buy whichever chain you want.
If you need any help, send me a PM

If you take engine, carbs, downpipes, loom, clocks .... the only thing that might be a problem is the throttle position sensor on the carbs if you use the T'Cats CDI although it should fire up the rev counter might flick to 8k repeatedly. If this does happen use a Foxeye CDI.
Use the carb holes and snorkel from a Foxeye airbox cut 'n' shut with the 3TJ's.

You can wire the TPS to ground which will get rid of the tacho dance.

I've got the plates in stock I won't countersink the plates, sorry, but you can do what you like to them once they're in your posession so if you want countersunk bolts I can get them, or I can provide 4 @ M10 x 1.25 x 30mm button heads (it's what I have in my bike.)
You need to take 5mm off the left frame casting (basically, just cut the mounts flush with the casting) and also the thickness of the bolt heads from the left side engine mount if you're not using countersunk bolts. It takes all of half an hour to do both frame and engine. I've just put a 4JH into a 4DX using the correct 'trim the frame' method and it went in no problem, relatively speaking.
edit- looking at your chassis, your down that far so it'd be easier to take the front and rear ends out and manouvre the frame over the 600 engine rather than try and jack the lump up into the chassis, plus it's easier to trim the frame with it upside down!

If the TPS is on the carbs and the carbs, loom and CDI from the Thundercat are used, why would there be a problem? If the loom from the 3TJ was used, I could see the issue.
Surely the TPS would connect to the loom and the loom to the CDI. If the TPS is on the carbs, then it will take the position from how much the cable has pulled the TPS round.
