Here we go ...
Keep the 3TJ tail, the R6 tail is very flat and doesn't suit the rest of the bike. The saddle won't fit the tank and you'll either get a gap behing it or in front. The money you'll spend on the conversion can be better spent, or simply saved and spent on a real R6.

You can nail an R6 tail onto a 3TJ but unless you do it properly properly, it will only ever look like a nailed-on R6 tail on a 3TJ because the 3TJ is a good chunk smaller and narrower than the R6. Save the money you'd waste on dressing a classic shape bike up as a 600 and stick a 600 lump in your 3TJ- everyone's a winner! The bike doesn't get chopped about and you get 30 more horses to play with

Sorry if this sounded a tad harsh, it wasn't meant to.

sound advice, and with a 600 lump in it, peeps will know it's a 20 yr old bike, but can't understand why you keep passing them under braking or round the bends

Re: fzr / r6 sub frame
Well... It was a bike I bought on a random whim to race in PI600. I was already set to race my NC30 and wanted to get my monies worth from going for the double header.
As for nailing people on that TD..I could only get into the novice group and I had not ridden the bike before on track..the Cadwell round was in a couple of weeks.
I enjoyed it a lot, it was shonky in a few ways - the install of the motor was not the neatest but it was fast.
I bought this off daz on here and as it was road legal I blasted about on it a bit too.

/On topic now - @ the OP - don't fuck about with the classic old skool looks - make it faster for less effort!
