Soul destroying first big bike!
Hi all,
I'm new here, been lurking around for a month or so and decided to finally register and post
So thought i'd start with something original.
I bought my first big bike, a 1993 Bandit 400 the other day, was sold as non runner, well sort of, i heard it started up (although it was a bitch to start and wouldn't idle. I thought i'll buy this then fix it up while i get my test done.. great right?
I have had the carbs off, cleaned them all out, the #1 top cap had a hole in it which was gaffa taped, so i used some epoxy to sort that out. Put everything back together and put a new battery in, tried starting it, and got nothing, just whir, whir, whir of it trying to start but it doesnt sound like it's going to at all.
There is fuel getting into the carb chambers, i checked by undoing to overflow screw thingy (sorry for being so technical!! lol)
Any ideas of what to do next as this has near broke me, i'm so annoyed at myself for even buying it now, oh and its got 47k miles on the clock which i read wrong when i went to view it so ended up buying a bike with really high milage
Is it worth trying to fix? or better to try and sell?
