vfr running problem
Hello all, I have a vfr which is not running, it ticks over but as soon as you give it any throttle it dies. I thought it was a carb problem but I put carbs from my other vfr on it (which is running fine) and theres no difference. Everything else looks ok. I tried a different cdi this evening and it made no difference. It has a blue flame can roughly welded onto standard pipes, could this be causing it?
Any other ideas?
Cheers lads :D

Re: vfr running problem
doubt its the exhaust, you can run them albeit it badly without an exhaust system.
You need fuel air and spark at the right time for it to run.
Maybe you have a vaccum leak somewhere, try using a funnel full of fuel attatched to the pipe to isolate tank issues.

Re: vfr running problem
Mine was running like a bag of shite when i got it... didnt cut out but if you gave it a handful it would splutter and misfire... turned out the rear ignition coil was dead and wasnt sparking strongly under load! Could be doing it on all 4 on yours dare i say it... its worth a check! Though if its all 4 then it might be something a bit further up the line than the coil packs

Did you try using the plugs from your other VFR too?
