Recently changed my chain and sprockets for the MOT, turns out the front looked a little like this...

Image

Only 5 teeth left!! Thought i could hear a knocking noise, must have been slipping over the few remaining teeth

Replaced everything with a standard 428 chain and sprockets

The chain is an o-ring from DID, i put it on with no problems but as i was tidying up i noticed the packaging said this:

Max 25 PS?

Is this something to be worried about or is it aimed at more modern bikes?

Looking back on it i should have done a 520 conversion

Nope Yamaha used a lighter chain - as long as it's an o-ring you'll be fine.
I knew somebody with a 3en2 who put a standard size, standard duty chain on after having read an article that said it would be fine as long as it was lubed. It stretched on every ride he took, lasted about a month !!!

Guilty as charged. Although you are making the chain sound better than it was. Lasted a fortnight and stretched about half inch every time I went anywhere on it.
