Hi, another question lol will a MPH NC30 speedo slot into a NC30 which came with a KPH speedo, is the difference at gears inside the speedo or at the gearbox? Also i how would change the odometer to read the mileage of my old bike, Hope this makes sense.

i'm pretty sure they are a straight swap.
if you're looking to put the km into miles and then put them onto the new mph speedo then you will need to work how many miles your bike has actually done. convert them using this http://www.metric-conversions.org/lengt ... -miles.htm then you will either need to open your new mph clock and change it by turning the numbers around...or (not sure if this would work!) get a drill and get something that will turn the numbers by using the speedo cable connector...no idea if anyone else has done that?

It's virtually impossible to change the mileage on the odo.

I tried it on a project bike of mine. Difficult to open up (heavy gauge metal locking tabs), and it looked even more difficult to reassemble.

I guess it's made like that for a reason!

prob not worth changing the mileage - a drill connected to the speedo cable would do it but you'd need rather a lot of revolutions and you'd have to go around the clock if it reads too high at the moment

for NC30 ???

from what i have been told its very easy to change the odometer

no locked down speedos

there is no need to disassemble the odo, very quick and easy one the gauge housings are removed , same as when removing the speed limiter

some other bikes yes have sealed up speedos so cant be done easily

Ok, yep its for a nc30 both nc30 clocks, i wouldnt mind doing the drill method.

The ZXR speedo was hard to open without trashing it as the metal casing is folded over, once apart adjusting the odo is easy.

The NC24 one was a doddle to open, just screws apart, not looked at an NC30 one... adjusting it on a drill will take forever, unless you can put the drill in reverse and wind it back which might be a lot quicker.

You'll need to do something with the speedo restriction too as the NC30 UK clocks dont have the circuit board in the back.

Come to think of it, if you can undo them easy enough to get the circuit board out which people do then they sound like the NC24 clocks, in which case adjust is easy :)

hey found an easy way to do it. PM me if you still require to do this. i dont want to put it up publicly as some people could use it to show incorrect mileage on bikes they're selling...and i dont want to help them!

p.s. people, i'm doing this as i'm rebuilding a bike from the ground up. No part of the bike will be left unchecked and serviced. And if i do decide to sell it i'll be honest about the clocks. but i doubt it as it's my baby already lol.

other thing about my bike is that i have no idea how many miles the frame has done yet as i didn't get the original clocks and waiting for my v5 to come through so i can check previous MOT's.
