GK71B restriction

Hi
done a forum search but can't find any info, so, does anyone know if / how the 1984 GK71B is restricted - CDI or speedo?

I have the 71F which is very simular and it's not the speedo. have been told it's in the CDI and cen be bypassed by cutting a wire and fitting 1.5k resistor. haven't tried this though.

hi not all of them are restricted for those with gear posistion switch it has three wires black (earth) blue (neutral lamp) and pink (gear pos) you need to cut the pink and on the bike side not motor connected to a 1.5 k ohm resistor and resistor to earth that sorts the timming retard but some bikes have a speed limit once in top gear and limits the revs so instead use a combination of resistors to make up 6800 ohms so cdi/ecm thinks bike in 5th gear and willl let you rev out when in top gear
this applies to all suzuki`s from 250-1300
