I have fitted a length of the HRC brake resevoir tube to connect my brake resevoir and my front master cylinder, after having it fitted for the last few weeks i have noticed it has been weeping slightly through the tube and leaving a residue of brake fluid around the tube.

Is the tube slightly porous?

in a word....yes.

in other words is it still ok to use to connect the master cyclinder to the resevoir rather than just for the rear brake resevoir?

Thats gotta be asking for trouble, what if it fails 1 day when your braking from a ton+ into a corner! SPLAT!

Id save it for the rear only!

Does any one know where i can get a piece of tube to use instead as the standard one has perished a little and would rather a new one.

You can still buy them from Honda for pennys, some one will have the part number.

We use BGC (http://www.bgcmotorsport.co.uk). They do a great range of brake fittings including res hoses made from a type of ptfe. Well worth giving them a shout as its only a few quid for feet of the stuff.

like what?

virtually nothing is available new anymore, the rear res and overflow bottles are because they are a generic part.
