Exhaust Combatibility

Hey guys,

I have some questions regarding exhausts. I see that there aren't any aftermarket exhausts for sale on jap4performance or on ebay(atm)

The bike in question is a standard GK76

Can you fit exhausts from previous models onto a GJ76?

What are the best exhausts and what are the ones to avoid?

Where is the best place to keep an eye out for exhausts?

Has anyone got any for sale?

If anyone has any good links for sites selling aftermarket exhausts and more or yahoo japan links that would be great :)

Thanks

A company on ebay (Sandybikespares) makes stainless steel headers. As for an end can, anything which takes a 54mm link pipe (if i remember correctly) will fit.

hope this helps....

Are they race headers or OEM replacements?

Is anyone running full systems? There are a few on Yahoo Japan but I find it hard searching on there.

There are very few about, the sandybike ones are replacment and ive no idea if they are any good.
You can buy RPM new on yahoo for mega money, again no idea how good they are.
Second hand RPM twin stack on Yahoo for okish money if you search gsx-r400.

I read somewhere about there being a shallower sump.

Could you fit this to a GK76 then be able to a GK73 exhaust system?

Hi,
You can swop the sump from Bandit4 to 73A and then fit the B4 pipe (touches the fairing a little) but the 76A has a completely different sump and a canister oil filter that mean only 76A pipes fit. I was looking into making some in stainless but people dont want to spend £300/400 quid on a pipe so never bothered.

If you need someone to help with funding a new exhaust I would be very interested. £300/400 seems cheap compared to others that available for other 400's.

Also interested if someone has a GK76 exhaust for sale atm

LOL not many people think like you and dont want to spend the same amount on a pipe as ther complete bike cost.
I have a jig already made up but dont have the time at present to work on pipes, its mostly down to not having the space but am getting a new/large garage this year and hopefully things will then change.
