GK73A offroad conversion (supermoto etc)

Post by greywolfhunter »

hey guys, me again, i've been thinking alot recently about changing things, firstly I intended to completely update my gk73a (digital speedo, tachio, etc etc) but now im thinking more along the lines of multifunctionality. has anyone on here ever decided to mod they're gk73a's for offroad? maby some kind of supermoto-tourer or somthing?

Its an idea, i know of people who've modded SV-650's and such for offroad spec, which I have to say is pretty damned impressive, and tbh, i wouldnt mind my gk73a bombing through the sahara. so, anyone got info?

i've made up a little sketch / modification from the original design that I snatched from the japanese manual, aswell as using some memory / imagination to make it into a supermoto / offroader, any comments, questions?

i'd probably use fiberglass and plastics to make up the tank / seat, probably use some really good BMW gs forks, offroad USD's or whatever else and custom yokes (or other forks that are long and strong, and the swing arm would have to be modified by myself, welding, make a new one or do both, and ofcourse a beast of a new rear shock. maby make up some kind of enclosed chain guard aswell? just to decrease the risk of jamming, corrosion and other damage that could happen.
could work in theory, but money's tight, so i'd have to wait a lil while before anything gets off microsoft paint and my sketch pad.
