Hiya all,

RE:New Exhaust - The Clearance between can, and the swing arm is millimeters!

Just noticed this, as the bike is on its side stand:

The aftermarket New bolt on Exhaust - The Clearance between the edge of the can, and the swing arm is millimeters!

Is this normal on a minature NC29 CBR400? (I can't remember how the original Can Sat, and there aren't many CBR400s around for me to look at anymore!)

There aren't any marks on the swing arm... Yet....

There is a bottom bracket, which holds the collector box section of the exhaust in place, and there isn't much movement, when I try to move the can side to side.

Hope you can advise - something to worry about?

Cheers
Martin

Mine sits very close but so far hasnt touched it yet. A little bit of "persuasion" on the end can bracket will push it out just a little bit further to give you peace of mind. There's no reason why the gap should close, your swingarm shouldn't be flexing that much and there are no forces at play on your end can. Hope that helps.

is it an oval slip on can?
if so move the angle of the can out a tad.
will have a look at mine later

they are close.

If it is too close - slacken the nuts a little - from head to mounting bracket - realign & then resecure.
