Still wont run right!

Hi guys,
I am still having problems with my gsxr. I have replaced the o-rings in the carbs (thanks to variablevalves suck) as they actually crumbled apart when I took them out. I then soldered the wire which broke from the tps (throttle position sensor) back on but I dont think it has done the job because then bike starts, and will rev but the throttle wont shut off. But if I take the tps off it releases fine. Can anyone tell me where I can get one or if you have one which I can buy or borrow to test if it is this. I havent had my bike for over a month now, im getting sad seeing it sit there.
Cheers,
Ray

Is it when you fasten the actual TPS unit on to the carb body? Not sure what other bikes use the same unit but they are on loads of newer bikes, the bigger bandits for example. May be worth googling TPS to see what comes up.
You will have to set it up after you get it going, i put a link in the sticky to a Bandit1200 setup.

Yes when the TPS is fastened on the bike is when the throttle wont release properly. I forgot to say that the bike will idle correctly (with full choke) but when I touch the throttle even the slightest it will rev off the counter.
I know I need to adjust the float heights to the bike but I started with the height from the carb sheets off this forum. (great documents)

Is there any carbs with the TPS that will fit my gk76a? Can I bypass it or just use the non tps gsxr400 carbs?
Cheers,
Ray

I would think it would run without the TPS, think its used to alter the advance curve for full or part throttle so may not be so crisp, im not 100% with the way it works.

Cool, I just bought a set of carbs with the tps for £95.

Cheaper than the set with no tps that I bought a while ago.

Fitted the carbs with the tps and the bike is still revving very high. If I push the throttle up under the carbs the bike calms down, i adjusted the throttle as much as I can but it still revs like hell. Could this be the pilot screw needing adjusting?
Cheers,

I took the carbs I bought from a WORKING bike apparently out of my bike to have a look at them, I notice the top of the 4th carb the diaphragm cap wasn't done up properly so I had a look inside and the diaphragm was slightly damaged, 2nd was missing a seal and the 1st was missing the spring. Not bad for a working set of carbs. Luckily my old carbs were ok so I changed all of the diaphragms over. The bike started up better, not revving as much then started to balance them and it was running better. I am getting the balance kit from a mate tomorrow to finish the little bike off so hopefully (fingers crossed) it is last time the carbs are off for a while.
So happy the bike is alive again, just waiting for my panels now.

Good to hear you nearly cracked it.
