b4 - rf600 swap?
to put it long story short, i've got my hands on 2 bandit 400 frames in a bunch of spares (one with v5) and i also have an rf600 project bike (i'm torn between using for parts, restoring to sell on or streetfighering).
since the rf basically has the same lump as the early water-cooled 750 (a few tweaks but mostly the same), does anyone know of any possibilities of a swap? i think that lump in the bandit frame would be one hell of a potent concoction.
i'm just brainstorming at the moment though, exploring all of the possibilities.
cheers (1st post)

Re: b4 - rf600 swap?
Hi,
I know where you are coming from with the RF motor as i thought about going down the same route due to the RF motor narrowing in at the head. Ive seen a gsxr6 motor fitted and it took a hell of a lot of work as the B4 is very narrow between the frame rails. I think you would find it a major job, things like the RF having downdraft carbs for a start. Only thing to do is start measuring.

Re: b4 - rf600 swap?
i'll be getting the tape measure out asap.
ive ended up with this rf basically because it was very close to home and the right price. originally i wanted a bandit 400 or nc30 but beggars can't be choosers. however with a bit of trawling around ebay i've realised i can return the rf back to a good stock condition for a couple of hundred quid and the going rate would be a about £1300-1400 which would give me a nice healthy profit to buy my ideal bike.
having these 2 bandit frames tempts me alot though. i've got alot of bandit parts at my disposal, frames, wheels, swingers and some half decent forks, aswell as a few random bits and bobs like footrests and exhaust hangers... but i'm thinking that a ground up rebuild without a donor could break the bank.
i had a great time with my last project, but it was relatively easy and didn't involve much actual structural fabrication like an engine swap does.
