Hey guys

,
I just wanted to know what the signs of ware of the o-rings in the carbs of my gsxr400 GK76a?
I cant think of anything else that could be wrong with my bike apart from this. Its obviously over fuelling itself and I have checked the floats and jets through out the carbs and they seem fine.
Cheers,
Ray

Hi,
symptoms of bad o'rings are hard to start, hot stalling, random flat spots and if bad temp gauge will stay low even when hot.

How long do you reckon it would take for it to do any damage to the bike?
I realised that the gauge wasn't moving from cold but I thought it was my gauge playing up because when I first bought it the clocks didn't work but they were sorted when I took it for a service.
Cheers,

Carnt really say how long as it would depend on how bad they were but the reason the gauge stays low is that the o'rings dont seal and the bike is running rich (cooling the bike). The problem can be if they leak enough to allow fuel down into the barrel as this washes the oil from the bore when parked up.

Cheers for the good word morris, i dont use this forum to make money, just trying to keep these bikes on the road so dont tend to push the o'rings.
