GK76A CDI on a 400 Bandit??
Hi folks
Just picked up a 400 Bandit that has lost its spark and requires a new CDI unit.
The old part number is 32900 33D10 which are like rocking horse shite to find!! I have however found a GK76A CDI which has the part number 32900 33C10.
Does anyone know if this will work on my bandit??
Thanks Griff

Re: GK76A CDI on a 400 Bandit??
Hi Griff,
Ive got no idea if the GSXR cdi will work. If its a 96 then it will definitely not work with a pre 93 cdi as Suzi changed all the cdi's for the 54bhp rule, if you got a later cdi then its a plug it and see job.
I remember a guy on a Bandit for saying the board in his cdi said gsxr on it so some must work.
Have you still got any gk73a front master cylinders?
Chris.

No idea mate. What bike is it from?
I read somewhere that a pre 93 cdi will work if I fit the pickup aswell so I'm gonna try that first but I have found a breaker that has the right part no. So if this way fails then I'll have that I think. Fingers crossed this works though as he wants 90 for the cdi!!
All the best griff

Hi Griff, nice one regards the mastercylinder.
If you are going to try the gixer cdi its the trigger you need to change, does the bike have a red rocker cover and chrome covers at the end of the cams? if not the cdi/trigger change may well work.

I assume by trigger you mean the pick up off the genny? If so it sounds like the same trick as the pre 93 bandit cdi so fingers crossed that'll work!!Variablevalves suck wrote:Hi Griff, nice one regards the mastercylinder.

The bike hasnt got red rocker cover and the engine looks the same as the gixxer so i could try that if this doesn't work but i'll probably end up getting the matching part no cdi from the breakers.
Cheers Griff

Re: GK76A CDI on a 400 Bandit??
nothing to do with the genny, its the trigger under the near side cover, they change the timing to suit the different cdi.

COuld be confused with the genny if you'd never taken the cover off before I guess though VVS.
On a side not anyone wanna buy a brand new pickup coil for a bandit?
