Hello all. I was just looking at my old superfour engine removed from the bike and I noticed something unusual in the inlets where the carbs join on. You can see them in the photo I've attached.

Question is are they meant to be there for any reason, or are they restrictors or something? I thought restrictors were just plain washer type things, not shaped like these.

Any help would be most appreciated!

I'd say take them out - they can't be helping anything, surely. They don't look tight enough to be 33bhp washers, they usually restrict inlet on these by around half of the diameter. Has the bike been to Germany? They have had some odd licensing and insurance restrictions in years gone by.

I was thinking the same myself, they cant be doing much good so I'll probably just take them out when I stick the bike back together. I'm starting to wish I labelled everything up properly before I took it apart!!
