My GF's NC23 Tri-arm - Xmas present

Post by Q... »

So the gf (on this forum here as bluebird400) recently upgraded from her beloved NC23 to a Ninja ZX6R.

She had Monica (The CBR400) for 5 years and comuted with her everyday into London.
Needless to say that Monica was tired and looking pretty out of shape. Not one single bit or fairing was undamaged and 4-5 falls / accidents meant that brackets were bent and bits were broken etc..

So for the GF's Xmas gift, I though I would re-do her first bike and only real love: her CBR 400 NC23 Tri-arm.

Mecanicaly Monica is well and sound so I did not touch the engine.

I tried to take pictures of the progress but started taking them a bit late unfortunatly. Anyhow, I reckon she will be pretty much finished the Friday when the tank comes back all painted.

I did all the work in my local garage in West London: Revolution Motorcycle. So big thanks to them for letting me use their bench and tools (and knowledge. lol).

I painted the wheels glossy black:

so the wheels are now back on.

This week I will play with the new fairings to ensure that the brackets are in the right place (they are all slightly bent), need to build the front end. The tank should arrive this Friday all painted.

I did not say what the fairings will be. I will leave this a surprise to you guys until the end.

Wow, it's been a long time now. Bike has been in storage and not touched since December.

This means that unfortunatly the GF didn;t get her Xmas present yet.

Next deadine is her birthday this Sunday. lol

I got a little problem. I bought a racing rear set and fitted it, but as it is a racing set, the brake pedal is no longer connected to the brake light so that's an MOT Fail.
I know I can buy something to connect the 2 together but don;t know the name of this nor where to buy it. can someone help?

Also, i will need to get the tanks painted and I am not sure who can do that for me. (in London).
Any idea?

thanks in advance.

You can get some kind of pressure switch for the pedal - I think racesupplies might be able to sort you out, as he sells these rear sets.
