Am i losing the plot. I am sure there was a link on this site on how to check and adjust the valve clearances of the fzr engine. Can't find it. Anyone help at all please.

PM CRM he was collecting a lot of how to's, although it will probably be for a honda

make sure you download the right manual the 2 i specified are for the later RR and SP models,
you should find one for the genesis there as well

Yeah got the necessary one. now need the time and bottle to sort it out. never done this sort before, as in shims under buckets, Thanks again.

page 31 of the sp manual gives stage by stage instructions,
the pics are well shit, but if you follow the words you'll be ok
get a piece of card and roughly draw out the head looking down, right the clearances you have per valve,
if you find some are out just make a note and go on to the next
once you have all the readings you can go ahead and adjust them (if needs be)
if they need adjustment follow the instructions and take your time remember (page 32 bottom right) plug the cam chain tunnel with some rag, you really don't want a shim in the crank/sump, also pull the cam chain tight and secure with some wire to the frame, if it aint moved from the bottom sprocket it make's timing it up much easier when you've finished

Thanks for all the info i asked for with this thread. Just to let you know the valves were all within tolerance so i was a happy bunny :grin: :grin: :grin: . just the carbs to balance and plugs to replace and then i can start on the cosmetics. She's got cr9e's in at the moment i know the manual says cr8e's so what difference would this make to my engine. please anyone???? :?
