The gearing on my hybrid is far too high for what I want and it seems that the largeest sprocket I can get is the Renthal 175 520 47.

Does anyone know of a larger sprocket this will fit?

Have you tried a 13 on the front? Presumably it will rub on the swinger.

I dont have any problems, my hybrid runs 14-47 in 6th it runs at 10mph per 1000 revs eg, 6000rpm = 60mph - 10000rpm = 100mph etc. Dont know whether some engines have differant gearbox ratios???

Which engine? Mine is the 4JH foxeye.

I have not got my gearing table to hand but with 14/45 it does 110mph on the limiter in 3rd.

The problem is that I'm just hooking 4th at Oulton into Lodge and Hilltop and then it's time to brake, so sometimes just hold 3rd on the limiter to save a change. I never use 5th or 6th Oulton.

I've got a 14/47 set on another bike ready to go on but before committing to that I wanted to see if there was something better I could do.

How about a 150 Section tyre ???

14/47 is 120mph at 10,000 rpm

http://gearingcommander.com/ will help choosing the sprocket size.. Any good bike shop can order in custom sprocket sizes.. My mates runs a 61 tooth on his blade for stunting..

Why not ? It will be a smaller rolling radius and so down gear the bike ... and steer a little quicker. Then again I suppose you probably don't have one handy
