fzr3tj rear shock swap

Post by scooby4/6 »

hi all, just in the process of swapping the front end of the bike for a better set up and will be wanting to do the rear shock at some point,so just looking for a definative list of compatible shocks with minimal fitting fuss.i have an r6 shock in there atm,but is quite old and far to soft for me(more than likely needs a service+spring).

so as far as i'm aware r6 and gsxr750 shocks fit but more looking for specific year/models so i know what i'm looking for.

cheers

The later R6 with red spring can be made to fit with an adapter on the bottom.
Have a search and you'll find a thread with a link in it to a another forum they did a GSX-R conversion and there's a later post that lists the Suzuki shock lengths and the year. You still to sort out the ride height though ... it cold just be 10-15mm on though so you either change the dogbones (Kala can sort you out for those) or put a ride height adjuster in.
The third option is to get an aftermarket shock, I've got an EMC one and it's nice ... bolts straight in too.

If you have the R6 one I'd just get it serviced and sprung to your weight
