Battery Relocation

Post by shakazulu12 »

In another thread, it was mentioned that someone managed to re-locate the battery in an NC30/NC35. It doesn't come up on the search.

If anyone has done this mod, any pictures of the bracket you fabricated and the place you mounted the battery would be greatly appreciate. I see this modification done frequently with RC51's in the states (SP1 and SP2 for most of you). I would love to do it to my NC35.

nice bracket work. yer how do batterys perform under heat like that??
if its a track bike it wound be better as it will be a good constant air flow there :)
and thats a tiny ass battery compared to stock :o might have to look into one of these to shave some easy weight hehe cheers Tim

Did you custom make that bracket? As the others asked, how does the heat affect the battery? If this is reliable enough for street use, I'm making it happen.

I'm guessing the battery will actually be cooler mounted there.

Low centre of gravity and low moment of inertia too. Lovely bit of fabrication though I guess it might be a pain to get to for a charge, unless you had a coupling under the seat. Just a thought.

If anyone has the specs for this, I have a machinest friend that says he can do it for me without much of a hassle. He just needs to know the precise measurements.

That is from my bike.

The battery in the pics doesn´t work. It is about 10 mm too wide, so it is now replaced by a 2,8 amp yousa with the same height and lenght, but quite a lot smaller where it needs to be.

That one puts out 50 CCA and have worked for a year on a street bike. It is a little lame at the moment and will propably need replacement for the next year, but that is the fault of a f-d up regulator.

Try it!
