Bike Dead, No Electrics

Hi Guys,
New to this forum normally use the GSXR400.com forum.

Well my bike died today, I was at the petrol station, went to start the bike, pressed the starter button, heard a click then everything went dead. I checked the four fuses under seat and they where fine so i pushed her home and put the battery on charge and it said it was fully charged, i wired the charger straight to the bike and switched on the ignition and all the lights came back on and the everything worked, pressed the starter button and i heard the starter solenoid click. Rewired the battery and nothing. Is there any other fuses apart from the ones under the seat?

Any ideas?

Cheers Chris

I had this with one of my bikes, there was an extra fuse on the starter relay itself which kills all power to everything. Took a while for me to figure that one out! Maybe something similar for you, which GSXR400 anyway?

Its the GK76A model, Havent seen any fuse near the starter relay. But could be looking in the wrong place.

Sounds like the starter relay from what you have described...

wait a sec, you say you "wired the charger straight to the bike" if you mean you connected it to the battery wires instead of the battery and the bike came to life then the battery must be pooped if it wont power the bike??

Agreed! If it works without the battery and not with then change/test the battery. Sounds like a cell in the battery has packed in. Happened to my missus in her car. One minute it worked fine then nothing!!

get the battery load tested. Many batteries will show full voltage but will have no guts left when they die. Would put money on it being your battery
