Here you are ! Seen these ?
So this is where everybody went, bit quieter or is it just me ? I think this is the third time its moved now, shit I've been floating around on 400 greybike for about 8 or 9 years now and I still haven't got over 1000 posts not very good eh !
For anyone who can remember or was paying attention my to my broken leg , well its still broken 10 months later, the plates fell apart after 8 months and I had to have it rebuilt so no racing in 08 maybe 09 definately 2010.
I've been making stuff on and off in after the 2nd operation (no more work) , made some carbon frame protectors and I 've mated a 3tj mudguard to a 98 R1 mudguard which is just about to get a mould made from it then I'll knock one up in carbon.. picks up from the original 4 bolts and then I'll just tie it at the bottom unless I can see an easy way to make a bracket, either way it shouldn't move.. if I can I'll take a pic of the mudguard and post it but it needs a tiny bit of a sand and polishing before moulding.. heres the frame protectors I put a set on ebay to finance some more purchase of carbon :D

Hmmm link didn't work for me when I clicked it but did work when I copied link and pasted it into browser and off I went. try that.
I had a look around before I made these to see if I could find them to buy 'cause the amount of work to make them from scratch is a bit of a pain but couldn't find them if anyone knows of any please let me know.
I've changed my user name too, got bored with using my real name ,
see you around

Re: Here you are ! Seen these ?
Hey there
So your legs getting there ????
I hope you manage to recover for next season ... seems to be this forum takes half the auction shortcut away so you need to give the auction number 110269233814 in this case. I have a pair of frame protectors fitted but mine are the short type and cost about £45 ... so your full length ones seem reasonable.
nice to see you made it over here
Boris

Hi Boris ,
I saw yours on your roadie in the pics, Thats interesting they were 45 quid, I looked at the general pricing on R1 and GSXR frame protectors and thought with the amount of time they took that would almost make it worthwhile, I don't think I'll be making many though as its not much fun and at the same time its nice to keep the bike unique. How are yours constructed, how many layers of carbon etc ? How did you affix them ?
I should have put ip one of them on the bike but that wouldn't show them off.
Have you seen the TYGA RGV farings ? I have a set on the way and will be making those fit ......over the next god knows how long :D , I've still got the triumph daytona rear end and I'm hoping with the R1 mudguard all comes together nicely.
Take it easy ! Neil..
mmmm did craig reappear on this site ? (rampantracing) He's back racing and his spine is all fixed up, he went very well and now I've told him he's my poster boy ! because he was injured for nearly 2 years and came back faster than ever !! :D

ine are Carbon .... don't know much else they're probably vacum formed like most stuff. I had to drill an extra hole in them for one of the bolt tops and fixed them with black sillicon so the edges were sealed. Gaffa taped them over night and they were fine.
Tyga RGV fairings ... sounds awful from a purist point of view
Have you seen the BDK mudgaurd ... it's the same style as the one your making
Rampant hasn't show'd up yet ... I'm glad to hear he's better and back in the saddle ... ask him to sign up

Purist :D that'll be you then ? , I still have another one and some original farings, I just can't help but mess with things and always wanted a motogp 250 !Evilchicken0 wrote: Tyga RGV fairings ... sounds awful from a purist point of view![]()
Yep seen that , I think its an RGV , the upside down forks model mudgaurd. Its not quite as chunky as the yamaha, bit more streamlined / pointy. I thought about getting one but for 90 quid ? , its the old story - motorcyclist covets bits but doesn't want to part with cash - builds one himself and spends three times as much in time and materialsEvilchicken0 wrote: Have you seen the BDK mudgaurd ... it's the same style as the one your making

On top of that theres the obscene postal rates in the UK, I pay so much less to send to you guys its outrageous.

I've got a NC30/29 one that doesn't go down the forks, I thought about making it fit the FZR but I'd sooner sell it and get a BDK one ... when I've got £90 hanging around.
I've just SORN the FZR as the MOT TAX and Insurance for it and the Bimota all arive in the same month. I can do a couple of little jobs on it too
