Noob question about single swingarm stand

This is the single sided swingarm stand I bought:
http://www.radum.com.au/catalog/product ... ts_id=8124
The pin is 22mm, and when I stick it in the hold at the back of the swingarm it goes in just over 2 inches. There is a smaller hole inside this hole (12-14mm - the hollow inside of the axle).. is the stand supposed to go through this hole as well?
I tried to lift the bike up with the stand by myself because noone else is home at the moment but it started tipping to the right so I stopped..
Is this normal? Do I need a smaller pin? Should I be able to pick the bike up by myself?
Thanks :)

has it got a plastic sleeve with it? mines got on that goes over the pin so that it fits nice and tight in the hole of the hub/swingarm, sleeves are usually different sizes depending if youve got a honda or ducati,
yeah you should be able to lift it yourself, it shouldnt wobble,

err apparently they've given me a Ducati stand. I've got a Honda one on order, and the pin is 30.9mm.
However, the seller tells me it should protrude into the axle about 70-75mm.. However, if I stick a ruler in there it can only go in about 52mm before I hit the axle, and the axle hole is only about 10-12mm..
Is anyone able to stick a ruler in the swingarm and see how far it goes in before it hits the axle? If the pin goes in about 50mm it still should lift the bike sufficiently (I hope) but I just want to know if this is normal or maybe I've got a longer axle or something?
Cheers

I got a pin made up for me on a lathe for the stand i welded up. the dimensions of the part that goes into the hub is 50mm long by 31mm diameter. Works for me.
Just cut the end off the one they sent you and you will be sweet. But not too much!

Cheers for the advice. Exactly what I needed to hear :)
Do you lift the bike up from the single sided stand by yourself or do you get someone to hold the bike to make sure it doesn't fall?
Thanks again :)

Just stuck the vernier on mine. 31.4mm shaft diameter. Thats a very snug fit as the hub centre is 31.5mm inside diameter and means that even with the shaft inserted a minimal amount the bike can't tip sideways.
Roll the bike over the stand, lift the stand handle/lever so the pin lines up with axle centre and slide it sideways so the shaft goes into the axle centre Then push the handle/lever down and the bike goes up onto the stand. Easy one man job.
