Are there any lightweight ally rear subframes out there that have full support for the seat units? I currently have one of the short stubby subframes on my 35 which was fine for the race seat unit but now ive fitted the RC45 Tyga seat unit the back end of seat unit is fairly loose and would vibrate like hell. So what id ideally like is a ally subframe with the provision for the rear of the seat unit to attach to the subframe.

Please suggest i go back to standard, i hate weight!

There was a piece on top at the rear that connected the 2 verticals but that had to come off to fit the tyga unit, cant really see why it was there in the first place TBH.

I think rick's ally subframes are pertty much as poer std, but half the weight - you might struggle with the catch tank though?

why not some clamps and tubing and make a meccano style support bracket?

I can't see too well where the seat unit bolts on (not familiar with nc35) but as long as it bolts on with at least 2 points either side (4 bolts for rear in total) it should be ok.

I also usually glue some foam onto the rider seat rails to take some vibration out of it. Probably not the best setup for a tourer but has always worked for me.

It bolts up in 2 places either side at the front then 2 down through the front seat so unlike the 30 which has 2 either side in the seat hump.

Good idea mark, i'll get some square section alloy, make 2 straight arms with a cross section for the rear seat unit support then 2 further support struts for the 2 arms, rivet it together with some ally brackets then get someone to weld it.
