6 Pot Front Calipers

Post by Kev_gk73 »

Ok my GK73 was in need of new calipers. My idea was to get ones off a GSXR 600 but my mate could only find me 6 pots from an 01 GSXR 1000 he had at work.

Now the calipers went straight on my bike without changing anything, we were a bit shocked at this as we have never seen anyone do it so didnt think they would work. The pads line up perfect and they dont drag or anything.

Question is will i need to change my master cylinder aswell or will the 400 one cope? I aint tried them yet as i need to bleed them out etc but i have the 1000 master cylinder there if needed.

Is there any problems with doing this conversion since theres not much people done it?

Cheers

its been done before but less common now since most who want to convert go to a radial front end. Best master cylinder for you conversion is a radial master cylinder from a the gsxr or the zx.
