A dr650 plodder lump!
wow, so you're not going for performance then???
wont that engine provide a few too many vibrations for that chassis / frame???

good luck with the build but if i was going to all the effort of swapping out the brillaint 400cc v4, i would either be fitting the vfr750 engine (which ive seen done & it works pretty well, even though its a bit tight) or i'd have gone 2t - aprilia rs250 lump with a stan stevens 300cc big bore kit - that would be a manic bike!

all the best.

I love big singles.

There not too vibey either compared to the old british bikes.. well the Honda Lumps arn't, they have a good balancer shaft.

I thought about this one.. Honda XR600 engine,

They have a Dry sump (separate oil tank) and air-cooled so no pissing about, locknut tappets which are accessible thru 4 caps so easy to do the valve clearences, single carb and Twin outport too so maybe some funkey twin stack ;)

Apart from cam lubrication (Easily fixed with a bigger oil feed pipe / pump) torquey fun chugger :D plus there used in practically everything, tonnes of bits available, especailly cams! Oh and kick / electric start too.. bonus!
