I’m looking for info about what is the best way to set up the suspension front and back. I’m not looking at swapping anything out right now i know though i know i should change the fork oil.
Mine is a import and I’ve never played with the setting before in fact it was only used once twice a month but now its my only transport and want to get the best out of it.
Is there any standard setting that i could set the bike to and then start from there and then try advanced setting to make it better.
On the front forks there is 2 adjusters what should these be set to and what do they do exactly?
On the rear where should i start?

Someone already posted this link. If you try the 'Search...' at the top of the screen you'll find what you're after. It has been covered a few times on here already.

I would advise that you would probably be pissing in the wind unless you serviced the forks and shock first.

The bikes are old and unless they have had forks sorted and a new or reconditioned shock then the performance of them is not really going to be affected by twiddling the adjusters.

The forks are too soft as standard and if they haev old oil they do not work very well - you would normally need stiffer springs to get somewhere in the ballaprk for setting them up on the adjusters.

One of our members, Rick Oliver, does a fork kit that is superb...not too pricy, does the job..stiffer springs, oil, oil level tool and how it works..bargain whe you consider that Hagon progressive springs are £75 or so..

the shock - this also is very soft and normally have never had any attention other than to be left out int he spray and near the exhaust heat. A basic refresh is about £75 and would be a good start. Springs can be £50 or so...

I really must get round to doing something to my forks. In the mean time I set everything to maximum and it's not too bad! The jackup link really seems to sort out the rear for now.
