NC29 coil and HT lead fitting

As the latest episode in an ongoing and protracted attempt to isolate a really annoying intermittent engine fault, I have acquired a pair of HT coils complete with leads and plug caps. Can anyone tell me if there are any potential probs that I should be wary about before having a go at fitting them myself? For example, will the task involve upsetting the carb setting adjustment? If there are any hazards that could leave me with a non-runner I would rather get the job done by a professional, but it would be nice (and save a handful of dosh) if I could do it myself. Cheers.

it's a simple job - take your time, ideally follow the manual - if not take photo's on the digi camera & take notes.

Seat & tank off.
Air box off.
You can then access what you need.

It's worth doing the plugs at the same time

It won't upset your carb balance or set up

Thanks for that, Nick, I'll give it a go when I get back to the UK from Korea in the middle of next month. Actually, I did check out Haynes before I left and thought it said something about disconnecting the carb linkage - that's what put me off. I guess I read it wrong.
Once again, many thanks.

Both the throttle cables pass over the top of the coils - to the extent there is a retaining loop on the coil mounting to keep the cables in place. You can work around them.
