i am currently racing a nc23, but since the start of this season i am suffering severe clutch slip especialy when engine isnt upto temp. The warm up lap and first lap i get bad slip, it then slowly starts to get better by 3rd 4 th lap its fine. I have had new ebc clutch plates it has hd springs also. The cable is backed right off so no tension in cable. It also gets regular oil changes. Could the plates of over heated and tarnished or is the oil getting contaminated because its only recently gained this problem. Its really anoying and am looking for a cheap solution. Any ideas?

hey mate
yes pull the clutch apart and do all your measurments on the plates and steels for a start.
next...turf the 1st fiber plate out and replace it with a number 2 fiber(full sized...not the half sized with the locating ring) for a guarenteed decent clutch
now for the fun bit...look at the clutch basket
see all the dimples where the plates have been knocking against it...get a file and file them smooth...on every1!
or get a new basket
i filed mine all smooth between races once as my 23 was doing the same thing,with new plates fibers and HD springs already fitted..went out after the file job and dropped a second per lap...no slip what so ever

What oil are you using? A full synthetic or even some semi-synth's may be too slippy, hence the clutch probs, especially with a part-worn clutch?

im using 10 40 silkolene , i will re asemble the clutch and do as instructed cheers guys.
