Suspension Settings - Idiots Guide?

My suspension knowledge is pretty useless, I know the terms but what they mean is another thing. My bike seems pretty well set up tbh, but just out of curiosity wondered what sort of settings you use on road, track etc.

I'm running standard forks and shock. Don't really know what its set up at, I know on the front I can see 3 rings on the adjusters. I've put a cable tie on the fork leg and its about 10-20mm from the bottom yokr iirc.

Haven't even looked at the rear, but its something I want to look at hence the thread.

Phil.

Hi Phil,

This is a hard one to answer as each rider is different in many ways.
There is no straight answer with 'three clicks here and so many mm there' that will work for an 'average' rider.
There are quite a few ‘how-to’ guides on the net so you could try Google and see what you find.

This one covers the basics but if you go down the left side, under ‘Chassis’ you’ll find more detailed info.
The importance of getting this right can’t be overstated. Setup right these bikes are a joy to ride. Setup wrong and it can seem like hard work.
Hope this helps.
