electric prob.

well, after changing reg/rec, which had a burnt terminal, thought i had cured my problem, but if i have h/lights on and put indicaters on the h/light flashes at the same time! (just a dimming in time with the flasher), bike starts well now, anyone any ideas please?..ted

If you have access to a voltmeter put it across the battery terminals with the engine running, anything much over tickover should show over 14 volts, failing that you still have a problem. (I think!)

hi mike, v/meter shows 12.50 to 13.26 when running, and thats about what the manual says!!..ted

Ted, I HATE electrical problems, one other thing you could try is cleaning all of your earth connections. I've seen it on cars that the brake lights "flash" when the indicators are on and that's usually an earth fault.

As long as the light isnt properly flashing on and off I wouldnt worry about it too much. Nearly all older bikes Ive seen have a similar thing. As the indicators are on, you can see the headlight slightly dip in brightness.
Mine isnt really noticable when riding about, more noticeable when stopped behind a car and you see the brigthness dip as the indicators come on.

mine does the same been doing it since i got it, but same as jac mine only does it when im stopped with indicator on.
think its just cus there old lol, or dodgey earth ill find out soon enough anyway when i rebuild mine and clean everything
