H4 relay mod switch question

Just one of my normal random thoughts Im having again that I need an answer too.

Ok, I know if you want to use normal H4 bulbs you need a relay on the CBR lo circuit so you dont blow the switch but my thoughts do you still need one if you have the switch version (R model) without a on/off light switch? Im assuming you have the same amount of power at all times and not pulsing the lo switch when you turn the lights on as you would with an earlier L or N model. Im no auto electician so some expert knowledge would be handy.

Any ideas?

i have one on mine, left it on even with the HIDs in case i need to convert back to bulbs.

mine is the L model with a hi/lo switch. it does burn the lo switch.
so if you no longer have the lo switch option on the newer model, i assume that it will still go for what ever part of the electrics that now controls the lo beam... check the electrical diagram from the headlight leading back and where it goes to. that will become the weak point.

in this case what your looking for is where to fit the relay in your system with no lo switch.

I do have a Hi/lo switch but no on and off so was thinking if they are always on would you need the relay due to the same voltage and it not spiking with 50% more load? I dont know really but it is possible its still needed as the light do auto turn off as you press the starter, just hoping someone would know for sure.

id say yes you would, the same loads are being created by the H4s, the tricky bit is figuring out where to fit the relay.
