vfr400 nc24 bad petrol leak at carb, help please!

Hi guys.
After stripping and cleaning the vfr I've found a bad fuel leak at the joint of the fuel pipe as it enters the front right carb.
I think the seal or o ring has perished as the bike has been stood for 5 years.
Can anybody give any advice as to how to replace and maybe a good source for replacement parts??
Thanks guys!
Chris

Where do you have petrol coming from?

http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-vfr400zh-198 ... t/E16.html

If you have a look there you'll find all of the part numbers for the various carb parts.. so if you can identify your leak just visit David Silver Spares

http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/

Put in the part number and get your price :)

Neosophist, that was great! Thank you, I have just ordered the parts.
It was the fuel inlet, or number 6 on the microfiche.
I've ordered one from David silver.

Well, that's where I think its coming from. The t piece has allot of movement and is wet around where it enters the carb.
I have to admit, it was the first time its been fired up in years, a few seconds of cranking and she burst into life... i was really chuffed, until my feet started getting wet with petrol, then I just sh#t myself and hoped I could shut off the fuel and stop it leaking before it flashed from the exhaust down pipes! then a dousing with water to take the heat out of the exhaust before I looked further.

Hmm..

You have the 1/2 Inch fuel pipe run from the Tap to the T Piece, which branches off into two smaller pipes to feed the carbs.

It could be that the pipes that attach to the T piece have worn away / split. The big pipe splits occasionally.

If you get the carbs off you can see it easily..

hi guys,
jut a quick thanks to all who have offered advice, espcially neo.
i finnaly got round to replacing the t piece.
Had the carbs off, replaced, , a quick clean and back on.
i have read about people having a real nightmare with getting the carbs back on, but think i was lucky and have read enough posts to give me a heads up of technique, it wasnt too bad a job at all.

Fuel leak sorted, fired her up and seemed to run ok (hard to tell, dont have anything after the collector box at the moment, so was loud) but the main thing is she fired and didnt leak fuel.
Hapier now.
