Hi,

Is there a "how to" guide for routing the rear brake line through the swingarm on an NC30?
I've has a search but not found anything.

Thanks.

Piece of cake.
Drill a hole throught the front of the swing arm on the top surface, sufficient in size to accomodate the line. Thread the brake line through a rubber grommet like the ones used in electrcal boxes, and then through the hole.
Having previously removed the hub from the swing arm, pass the brake line through another hole drilled about 50mm infront of the hub.
Alternatively drill a hole at the bottom of the swingarm and pass the line through that. Again use a grommet to prevent the line chaffing.
Where you position your holes depends on the fittings you use on the end of your lines. If you drill at the bottom, you'll need a 90 degree fitting.
Got some photos somewhere, I'll have a look and post em up.
A modification worth doing.

You only need to drill one hole at the hub end as per the Akhara pics - the line can pass through the open space near the shock. There's plenty of clearance, never had a problem in 5 years on road or track with a cable tie holding the line.

Not (technically) the best of ideas to drill holes in the swingarm, particularly the one nearest the suspension unit.

Yes they're the same grommets used by electricians.
I don't really see an 8mm hole weakening a swing arm that much.

I dont think drilling some small holes in the swing arm has an majour effect on them, iv done it to both my road and race bikes and noticed nothing and alot of vfr/rvf racers ahve the top surface of their swingarms milled down a few mm to reduce weight and they and setting lap records...
