Has anybody had the bright idea of using normal iridium plugs on a VFR engine but with a machined sleeve to take up the extra depth of the thread so we can use normal plugs that don't flood or foul if the winds blowing the wrong way ?

I know racers use washers to index plugs, this would be an extension of that idea really.

Am i just being daft and looking for solutions where there are no problems ?

Are you talking about the NC24? That uses standard (big) 10mm plugs and they dont' die easily.

The NC30/35 use 8mm (tiny) plugs that die easy. Only those two bikes and the NR750 use those plugs as far as im aware.

Sometimes people change the Heads of the NC30 to NC24 to use the larger 10mm plugs..

Seen plenty of examples on this forum of machining nc30/35 heads to take bigger plugs.
